Since our last update Michael has shown some hints of more energy. How do I know this? I find him cleaning out the vacuum cleaner hose, huffing and puffing to replace the HVAC air filters and deep cleaning the dish drainer. These are small things but they are signs to me. I also pause in gratitude for the fact that he still has not presented with another fever. I have been taking advantage by driving Hazel to her karate class on Wednesday, having a sleep over with her Thursday night and going out on Friday with Hazel, her mom (Hope) and my cousin (Daph). We walked around the south Eugene neighborhood and went to Tugman Park (where Hope volunteers) after a visit to the local bakery.
Today, Saturday, the sun was out in the morning and I cleaned the back patio in case we decided to sit out in the sun. But the rain came again and we are inside. Also, today Michaelβs weakness has set in again. There is lurking overhead like a familiar but unwelcome guest, the possibility of another ER trip. Michael did a urine test on Friday just to see what was going on and after the preliminary results, our primary care provider contacted us saying it looks like a possible infection again and she recommended a trip to the ER if he gets another fever. Michael and I reviewed the urine test results and we have never seen so many abnormal results. I think there should be a prize for such amazing test scores! So again, we watch and we wait. The urine culture takes at least a couple more days.
So it is, as always, a good time to ask for prayer! That the amazing power of love and miracles come to bear in all of our lives. Choose wisely: Choose joy!
